50 - wet & wild

i dont lie when i say i would do anything to get a great shot. with that said ive pretty much shot in some outrageous weather. extremely cold, extremely hot, wet, freezing - you name it. the video below is a perfect testament of it. sure the beaches of south africa are one of the best ive seen (and ive seen a whole lot), but the water is just FRIGID! i dont think i can stand with my feet in the water for more than 30 seconds. any longer than that and i'd get hypothermia. okay maybe im over exagerating a little bit (that and maybe i dont have enough bodyfat in me to stay warm long enough) because this place is also a surf haven. but the point is, this shoot required me to be IN the water for a long time. as you can see, there were times when i was actually submerged completely. man, thinking about that moment gives me shivers, but it was all worth it, as i did get real money shots !

with photographer carien kuhn and her wacko assistant.
he made my day by taking these behind the scene photos and videos !

sad to say, i did get sick after this and had put me out of commission for a couple of days.
but needless to say, my time wasnt wasted since i was able to catch up on correspondence and catch up on sleep. otherwise i'd still be up partying all day, everyday.

below are photos of the beautiful view at camps bay beach, where the water is apparently "warmer". yea right. as you may notice, ive also lost a lot of weight at this point. no rice and frequent visit to the gym does that to you. i offset it with intense amount of alcohol though, so it's all good :)

striking the badass pose
(i normally dont do sexy, so this is something new for my book)

[L] wardrobe check!  [R] look at this creeper! LMAO

[R] fun in the water !  [L] tourist shot !

49 - when work was fun

getting away from the norm was good, but getting away from my day job was best. i'll leave my job again in a heartbeat if it means coming to work with this as my "office" and my biggest "stressor" if you even call it that would be changing up my smile to give more variety to the photographer. like really, now.

an "office" with a view

i love these "over the edge" pools. they're awesome.

taking a break from "work"

[L] love that chair !!  // [R] waiting for my turn to shoot

my lovely office chair, feeling like BOSS !

48 - tuesdays with twins

around this time during my trip i knew my trip was coming to an end quite quickly and it was sad because i've gotten so used to everything - culture, directions, LIFE - as well as meeting and getting to know such amazing people around the world and learning to try 5 different accents at once. but i lived every single day as though it was my last, and i made sure i hung out with as many new friends as i could, and met new ones as though i was there to stay...

having recco pasta (our faves) at primi's with my girl nisreen

someone's buried inside.

the tomb inside, and another one in the back
creepy.

prison cell and their bunk beds
you can also see their lockers where they kept their belongings
these are the original ones they had and preserved; no replicas.

nelson mandela's prison cell

you cant really tell but perched on those white rocks are a million of birds !
totally scary.

i wanted this quilt so bad, but it was semi expensive...

at the souvenier shop

i thought i could find it again elsewhere but i never did - womp !
